A Year-End Message to My Readers (2024 Edition)
The year of “WTF?”
Am I the only one who woke up every morning this year, looked at the headlines and said “WTF?” Yeah, it’s been that kind of a year.
I was reviewing my 2024 articles looking for the most important, most defining moment of the year and got hung up between women ending up dead in states that banned abortion because doctors were afraid to treat them until they were dying and the Supreme Court granting Trump blanket immunity for all of his actions in office that were part of his presidential duties.
In comparison, the election was almost a sideshow. A sideshow in the sense of seeing shit we have never seen before. Like a presidential candidate dropping out of the race to everyone’s relief after a debate so awful that he made Nixon look like a debating champ.
Without time for another primary, the DNC, instead of quietly rolling Biden off the campaign trail in a wheelchair, made the mistake of allowing him to anoint his successor. Who then went on to conduct the most tone-deaf campaign in modern history. Something that was utterly predictable based on her previous run for president in 2020 and her poor performance as vice president.
