An indictment would just make Trump more popular with his base. I'm hoping that Republicans come to their senses and nominate someone other than Trump but it's too soon to tell. Remember, it took a few months for them to come around after the insurrection. Right afterwards, Republicans were anti-Trump. A few months later, they were back to Trump being the leader of their party. It could happen again. I'm reserving judgement for the time being.
