Biden Did Not Win the 2023 Off-Year Elections
Celebrate the abortion win, not Biden
I was absolutely thrilled to see how many 2023 statewide elections resulted in wins for abortion rights and pro-choice legislators. It was a real slap in the face to the Supreme Court which struck down Roe v. Wade and sent the abortion issue back to the states in the expectation that abortion would be outlawed or severely restricted in most states.
What I don’t understand about the 2023 off-year election results was how the abortion and Democratic candidate wins had so many people literally dancing with joy because they interpreted the election results as validating a win for Biden in 2024.
How is that possible? Biden wasn’t even on the ballot. And just because “his” policy won, doesn’t mean that he will win another term.
Democratic voters have said, repeatedly, that they don’t want Biden to run and if he does run, they will not vote for him. Why is no one listening to them? More importantly, why is no one believing them? Do they think that this is some kind of idle threat?
Does the Democratic Party really want to take a chance that their voters are just kidding about not wanting to vote for Biden? Don’t they realize how many other choices those voters will have…
