Biden’s Big Mistake
He needs to win an election that doesn’t count
Sorry to disappoint you, but this is not an article about Biden being too old or not doing a good job or is developing dementia. Nope, this is an article about the Democratic primary calendar and how Biden, in an effort to avoid embarrassment in 2024, reordered the Democratic primaries and … is embarrassing himself in 2024.
So, you can dial back the outrage. For now.
As you may recall, Biden reordered the Democratic primaries, demoting both the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary from their top spots on the calendar. He said that it was all about giving
“Black, brown and Asian American and Pacific Islander voters an earlier say in the presidential nominating process and that the new order would better reflect the diversity of the Democratic Party.”
But then Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), whose endorsement helped Biden win the 2020 South Carolina primary, let slip that the real reason Biden wanted to demote Iowa and New Hampshire was because he didn’t want to lose in those states in 2024 like he did in 2020.
