California Gov. Newsom to Debate Florida Gov. DeSantis
It will be an unequal contest
Mark your calendars for November 30 cuz it’s on. Florida Gov. Ron “The Troll” DeSantis has accepted California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s invitation to debate.
WTF?
Why are these two debating? Only one is running for office and it’s the presidency, not governor of California. And the other one isn’t running for anything … at least not overtly.
Yeah, there’s a lot going on under the surface here. Let’s dive in and see if we can figure it out.
Newsom has been challenging DeSantis to debate for months now. Newsom has called him a bully for erasing civil rights victories, abortion laws, immigrant protections and LGTBQ+ rights. He even released a video inviting Floridians to move to California.
So why does Newsom want to debate DeSantis? He’s not running for president, right? Wrong. Newsom has been running a presidential campaign under the radar for about a year, long before Biden announced he would seek re-election.
