Some surprises in the mix

CPAC held their 2024 convention on February 22 through the 24th. It has truly become the Trump show. Most of the speakers used their speaking time to audition to be Trump’s vice president. I’m not sure why. Didn’t he try to kill his last VP? As in, encouraging his followers who were busy rampaging through the Capitol to find Mike Pence and hang him.

Yeah, Trump’s VP is not a job that I would want, but maybe that’s just me.

During a presidential election year, the CPAC conference would end with a straw poll allowing attendees to vote for their favorite candidate to be the party’s nominee. This year, it’s a foregone conclusion that Trump will be the nominee, so to mix things up a bit, there was a straw poll for candidates for Trump’s VP.

If you were wondering about the results, cuz you know that I was, here they are.

Tied in first place with 15% of the vote each were South Dakota governor Kristi Noem and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Second runner-up … er, I mean second place went to former Democrat turned Independent, Tulsi Gabbard with 9%.

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik and former presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) tied at third with 8% of the vote.
