Democrats Are Having Trouble Fundraising
Compared to 2020, there are fewer donors and fewer donations
If you are not afraid enough already, let me give you another reason why Trump will win in 2024. Democrats are having trouble raising money. Voters are so unenthusiastic about Biden running for re-election, that they aren’t donating to his campaign.
And we’re talking donors big and small. They’re calling it the “enthusiasm gap.” I call it a five-alarm fire.
Democrats are still ahead of Republicans in fundraising as usual, but what is concerning is that the amounts and the number of donors are far smaller than in 2020.
Let’s take a closer look. Small donors gave $312 million to the Biden campaign in the first half of 2023. That’s $30 million less than at the same point during the 2020 campaign. And there were 32% fewer donors than at this point in Biden’s 2020 campaign.
Good thing there are no Democratic debates cuz at this rate, Biden might not qualify to debate.
Or how about the day he announced? When Biden announced he was running for re-election, 57,000 people sent donations totaling close to $2.9 million. Now compare that to his announcement in 2019 when he raised more than $4 million.
