DeSantis Speaks Out on Trump’s Possible Indictment
The Republicans are not happy with him
What is it they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? The Dark Lord of Florida had his presidential campaign all laid out.
Write a book. Do a book tour through the early primary states. Ram through as much MAGA legislation as possible. Then announce he is running for president. Campaign on his laurels. Win the nomination. Win the election over a man almost twice his age. Bring Speaker McCarthy to heel.
What he didn’t plan on was Trump and his baggage. Yes, Trump had been slinging mud at DeSantis for months, but DeSantis has been ignoring him, refusing to engage. There was no reason for him to engage.
He wanted to rise above the schoolyard bully crap. Be the bigger, more mature person. Be the one who is getting results rather than losing elections.
And then Trump announced that he would be arrested on Tuesday, March 21 for paying off a porn star.
Initially, DeSantis employed the same technique he has used for every other Trump kerfuffle. Ignore it. It’s just another reason why MAGA voters should vote for him rather than Trump. No porn stars in his past.
