Foreign affairs is not in my wheelhouse, but I do kinda follow what's going on. I get a little heated when the Republicans talk about cutting funding and weapons to Ukraine. I'm a Boomer and the Cold War was a big part of my life. In school, we were taught that one of the most important purposes of NATO was to contain Russia. If Russia did invade, it was better for us to fight them on European soil rather than here at home. I just want to scream at the stupid Republicans that Zelenskyy and the Ukrainians are saving Europe. If Russia had been successful and took Ukraine, Putin wouldn't have stopped there. He would have continued on because his dream is to reassemble the Soviet Union. It's so much better for us and for Europe to supply the Ukrainians with whatever they need to repel Russia than to have Russia rolling across Eastern Europe, which would have triggered our mutual defense pact and then American lives would be at stake to stop the Russians.
