GOP is Upset That Dictator Trump is Taking Military Actions Without Consulting Congress

Hey, he’s the Commander in Chief and doesn’t need to ask anyone’s permission

I was going to write about the DOJ’s efforts to collect voter rolls from the states so that the administration can more closely control voting in the midterms despite the fact that the Constitution gives control over elections to the states, but something else caught my eye.

I distract easily.

The AP is reporting that the GOP has its panties in a twist over that whole blowing a Venezuelan speedboat supposedly carrying drugs and members of the Tren de Aragua gang out of the water.

Now, normally I don’t give much thought to drug smugglers and violent gang members beyond cheering on anyone who kills them/blows them up/locks them up for life but in this case the fact that Republicans are upset about this puzzled me.

Why are they so concerned with drug smugglers and violent gang members rather than illegal tariffs which are rapidly sending the economy over a cliff?

Well, it turns out that it isn’t this one incident in isolation which has set their asses on fire. It’s the totality of the situation.
