Harris worked with Biden's late son, Beau, when he was AG of Delaware and she was AG of California. They remained close friends afterwards and she remained friends with the Biden family after Beau's death.

I keep reminding people of Biden's age. Older people dislike change. They prefer being around people that they have known a long time. So when Biden "needed" a Black woman for his VP, it made sense that he chose a family friend that he knew and that his late son Beau knew and valued over more accomplished Black women that Biden didn't know as well. It was just more comfortable for him.

I know that this sounds ageist (I"m a senior citizen myself so I'm allowed some leeway here), but this is the perfect example of why we need a mandatory retirement age to prevent elderly people from serving in our government.

One old man's choice of comfort over skills has had negative effects on the entire country.
