Hegseth Puts His Stamp on the Military

He wants to make it a MAGA force

Well, that didn’t take long. Everybody’s favorite barely confirmed drunken rapist, Pete Hegseth, hit the ground running on his mission to remake the military into a MAGA force.

He has cancelled what he is calling “cultural awareness months” including National African American/Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Pride Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month and National American Indian Heritage Month.

So let’s just ignore the fact that 21% of our military is Black, 18.4% are Hispanic, and 17.5% are women. Instead, let’s focus on:

“We are proud of our warriors and their history, but we will focus on the character of their service instead of their immutable characteristics.”

Oh, really? Then how do you explain naming bases and ships after white men?

But more alarming than a military that refuses to acknowledge its own diversity is a military that prefers to disseminate information through biased sources.
