There was a really interesting article in the Los Angeles Times about Trump’s plan to deport millions of undocumented migrants. The article concentrates on the effect of deporting the estimated 1.9 million undocumented migrants currently living in California, but it is applicable to any state.

It talks about the effects of uprooting people who have lived in California for years. The effects on families who have both documented and undocumented members. And the effects on the labor force which depends on the very people that Trump wants to deport.

How does Trump plan to deport millions of undocumented migrants? By invoking the Insurrection Act, of course. This will allow him to use the National Guard to round up undocumented people all over the country and transport them to Texas where detention camps will be built to hold them until they are deported.

Conservative estimates are that there are 10 million undocumented migrants in the U.S. Not content with ridding the country of people who are here illegally, Stephen Miller, the originator of the Muslim ban and the family separation policy, wants to go after people who are here in the U.S. legally.
