How to Watch the First Republican Primary Debate
A drinking game and a score card
The first Republican Primary debate is almost upon us, so, being the helpful person that I am, I have prepared a guide for you to use while glued to your seat as the debate unravels … sorry, I meant unfolds.
As I expected, Trump will not be onstage with his rivals. He has taped an interview with Tucker Carlson that will be aired, I think online, since Carlson is out of a job at the moment and kryptonite to all conservative media.
A little counterprogramming to draw attention to himself (Trump) and flip the proverbial bird at Fox News which is sponsoring the debate. Fox News is persona non grata in Trump world at the moment. Actually, ever since Fox called the election for Biden in 2020.
Trump holds grudges for years. This one will probably accompany him to his grave.
But not being onstage doesn’t mean that he won’t be watching. I’m sure he’ll be hunkered down in front of a TV at his club/home/cemetery in Bedminster, New Jersey. Probably live Truthing the debate for his supporters.
I’m predicting that he won’t be able to resist being onstage mixing it up, so we will see him at the second debate.
