ICE Raids Have Begun
We now live in a police state
Trump had no sooner taken the oath of office, than ICE started raiding workplaces hunting for undocumented people.
By the way, am I the only one who noticed that Trump did not swear on a Bible when he took the oath? He started taking the oath before Melania made her way to his side with two Bibles. So she just held the Bibles where his left hand should have been. His left hand which remained resolutely at his side.
If he wasn’t touching the Bibles, does his oath count? Is it possible that he was never sworn in as president?
Okay, back to ICE and their raids. Funnily enough, they are only conducting raids in sanctuary cities like Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York. Besides sowing fear among immigrants and confusion among local officials (who can now be prosecuted if they don’t cooperate), ICE seems to be relying on undocumented immigrants living in red states to “self-deport.”
The DOJ has made some important changes to the way we handle immigration and deportation. ICE is no longer barred from raiding churches, schools and hospitals, so nowhere is safe anymore.
