If you follow the link I provided, the scholars' argument is that since president and vice president are not specifically mentioned whereas senators, representatives and electors are, then they did not mean for the section to apply to president and vice president. It's an arcane argument, but we have a deeply conservative SCOTUS who will likely pick out arcane stuff like that to allow Trump to run for office.
