Is Kash Patel’s Nomination a Symptom of Trump’s Dementia?

Trump seems to have lost all contact with reality

I was going to write about the DNC’s struggles to learn a lesson from their ignominious defeat in the 2024 presidential election, but then Trump managed to top his insane nomination of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General by nominating Kash Patel to be the director of the FBI.

Patel, like all of Trump’s other nominees has no qualifications for the job except his slavish devotion to Trump. I can guarantee you that J. Edgar is rolling over in his grave.

I’m not even going to describe Patel’s thin resume. It has nothing to do with his future job as the head of the FBI and contains more than a few exaggerations and outright lies. Very Trumpian.

Also very Trumpian is Patel’s so-called non-profit foundation that is supposed to aid the families of the people … excuse me, patriots … charged with crimes committed during the attack on the Capitol on January 6. The foundation spends more on promotion and advertising than it pays out in contributions and grants.

And, like his Orange Idol, Patel sells Trump branded merch. He uses the logo “K$H.” Trump is probably kicking himself for not thinking of it first. “Tr$mp” looks about right.
