Is Trump Trying to Get Out of Debating Harris?
He is looking for excuses to get out of the scheduled debate on September 10
Trump is making noises about pulling out of the debate with Harris on September 10. Is anyone at all surprised? I think it’s pretty obvious that he is terrified of her. She’s younger, smarter, better looking and attracts bigger crowds than he does.
So here’s what’s going on. Trump is re-visiting his hatred of ABC, claiming that it and its anchors are biased against him. He posted (on Truth Social):
“I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?”
Why, indeed? Other than the fact that you had no problem with doing a debate on that network when your opponent was Biden. Now that it’s someone you are afraid could best you in a debate and then beat you in the election, all of a sudden you are having second thoughts.
Then Harris’ campaign asked for a change in the rules of the debate. They want the mikes to remain on during the entirety of the debate, rather than being muted while the other candidate is speaking.
“Our understanding is that Trump’s handlers prefer the muted microphone because they don’t think their candidate can act presidential for 90 minutes on his own.”
