Judge Aileen Cannon Reverses Herself

But that’s not the biggest problem

Let’s talk about Judge Aileen Cannon and what she has been up to lately. Not because it is particularly egregious (it is), but because she is part of a troubling trend that I think is not getting enough attention.

Judge Cannon, you may recall, was selected to be the judge in Trump’s document case either through the luck of the draw, scheduling conflicts, mercury was in retrograde, whatever. She is singularly unfit to try this case due to her inexperience and obvious bias towards the defendant.

Getting an inexperienced judge assigned to a case shouldn’t be a huge concern. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would do some research, consult with other more, experienced judges and get through the case with a minimum of difficulty.

We all have to start somewhere.

Judge Cannon did, in fact, consult other legal minds, the problem being that the people she turned to was Trump’s legal team. Not the choice that I would have made but I am not angling for a Supreme Court appointment.

She has been assiduously following their advice resulting in the numerous delays that are their goal to prolong the start of the trial beyond the November election which they are confident Trump will win. The election, not the…
