Today I would like to talk about the Supreme Court decision, 303 Creative v. Elenis. It is wrong on so many levels.

Please be patient with me. I’m doing my best to remain calm and coherent.

First, let’s talk about the plaintiff. She is a website designer who was supposedly concerned that Colorado’s public accommodation law … which is a nice way of saying, if you’re going to serve the public, you have to serve all of the public … would force her to create wedding websites for same sex couples.

Her religious beliefs force her to believe that marriage can only be between man and a woman. But she’s okay with that. If Jesus says so, it must be true. Except I don’t think that Jesus ever expressed an opinion on gay marriage.

But that’s neither here nor there.

What’s important here is that she wants to be able to discriminate against gay people on the off chance that two men, holding hands, come flouncing into her store and demand that she create a wedding website for them or else.

That was sarcasm.

Oh, and she has never designed a wedding website for anyone of any sexual orientation.
