And the race just got harder for Harris

I almost feel sorry for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. With a name and family like that, you would think that he would go far in political life. Instead, he has become his own worst enemy.

He ran against Biden in the primaries. Not a smart move. Democrats have a tradition that when the incumbent president is running for re-election, no one else runs against them.

Undeterred, Kennedy left the Democratic party and campaigned as an independent. His support actually reached double digit levels for a while, but the DNC was making his life hell with lawsuits, trying to block him from getting on the ballot in all 50 states.

When Biden dropped out of the race and Harris assumed the mantle of presidential nominee, Kennedy’s support dropped to single digits. He began a desperate search for a dignified off-ramp.

He tried to negotiate a cabinet position in a possible Harris administration in exchange for dropping out of the race and endorsing Harris. Neither she nor anyone on her campaign would even talk to him.

So he had to endure the ultimate political degradation. He crawled to the Trump camp and begged for a position in a Trump administration in exchange for dropping out and endorsing Trump.
