McConnell’s no vote was a no to the constitutional right to impeach a private citizen. He split a lot of hairs so that he wouldn’t have to vote yes to conviction. He has made up his mind to purge Trump and Trumpism from the Republican Party. McConnell is as smart and wily as they come. Trump doesn’t stand a chance against him.
