Mike Pence Wants to Be President
Will he be able to reclaim the Republican Party from Trump?
Poor Mike Pence. He wants to be president so badly. And he thinks that he can reclaim the Republican Party from Trump and his MAGA movement.
Trump only needed Pence to get elected. Pence was supposed to bring in the evangelical votes. Once Trump was in office, he had no further use for him.
So, Pence became a ghostly presence during his time as vice president. There, but not there. Trump doesn’t like to share the spotlight with anyone, so Pence was relegated to the background.
Then he called Pence out of obscurity because he suddenly needed him again. Needed Pence to overturn his loss in the 2020 election.
Fortunately for us, Pence found his spine … perhaps Mother had it in her purse … and did the right thing by obeying the Constitution and defying Trump thereby earning Trump’s eternal enmity.
At least until he thinks he needs Pence again.
Now Pence wants to step out of his obscurity and run for president. Will he use his heroics on January 6 as part of his appeal to voters?
