My opinion (no evidence to back it up) is the income "adjustment" went to authors making next to nothing to encourage them to keep writing without costing Medium much money. You and I earn too much. Medium wants to get rid of us because we are too expensive.

I'm still obsessed with the decrease in my views and earnings while simultaneously picking up hundreds of new followers. It's mathematically impossible.
