NJ Sen. Bob Menendez Charged With Being a Foreign Agent
He is in violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act
Well, it seems that I finally got something right. Back in September while everyone else was mesmerized by bags of money, gold bars, and that shiny new Mercedes in Sen. Bob Menendez’s (D-N.J.) garage, I was raging about the fact that he had been passing secrets to the Egyptian government.
Turns out, Manhattan federal prosecutors were a tad bit concerned about that also and have filed a superseding indictment accusing Bobby of acting as a foreign agent. Remember, at the time, he was the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations committee.
Officially, members of Congress are not supposed to serve in Congress and act as lobbyists at the same time. That’s problem number one. Problem number two, is that if someone is lobbying on behalf of a foreign nation, they are required to register with the Justice Department under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
Bobby did neither as he collected his bribes for lobbying on behalf of Egypt. And now he is in even bigger trouble than he was when the bribes were discovered.
