Portions of the Constitution are Being Deleted
The parts that Trump doesn’t like
Dictator Trump has decided to go beyond ignoring the Constitution straight into deleting the parts he doesn’t like.
Why is this not front-page news? Why is it being treated like just another rule that Dictator Trump is breaking, no worse than anything else that he has done?
This is the foundation document of our democracy, for God’s sake. Our entire country, our laws, our government, our courts are all based on the Constitution.
Not to mention that if anyone, INCLUDING Dictator Trump, wants to change anything in the Constitution, there are specific guidelines for doing so. Just deleting shit is not one of them.
Okay, I’ll stop hyperventilating and try to make some sense.
Dictator Trump fired the head of the Library of Congress back in May. Without someone to stand up to him, Dictator Trump can now dictate what does and does not appear on the website of the Library of Congress, including its annotated Constitution.
Suddenly, parts of Article One are missing. Article One establishes and defines the role of Congress. Missing are Section 9 and clause 1 of Section 10.
