Project 2025 Wants to Eliminate Abortion and the Morning After Pill

The Supreme Court is taking a case on restricting mifepristone, the most widely used abortion pill in the country. Project 2025, a pet project of the Heritage Foundation, wants to go even further. According to their 887-page blueprint for banning abortion and contraception, if Republicans regain the White House, they want to resurrect the Comstock Act while they try to force the FDA to rescind its approval of mifepristone.
Ya know how I’m always saying the Republicans want to drag us back to the 1950s? The Comstock Act is 150 years old. This is how antiquated their thinking is. The Comstock Act, in case you are not familiar with it, outlaws “sending or receiving through the mail any ’article, instrument, substance, drug, medicine or thing’ that could be used to facilitate an abortion.”
