Rep. Dean Phillips Is Exactly What Democratic Voters Are Looking For
Instead of ridiculing him, top Democrats should be backing him
The DNC should be worried. Very worried. A new candidate, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) has stepped up to challenge Biden. It’s the reason he stepped up that should concern the DNC, the Biden campaign, and big donors who have lined up to support Biden.
In an interview with “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker, this is what Phillips said when asked why he is running against Biden:
“I’m not running against President Biden; I’m running for the future. We have some policy differences, but I’m a proud Democrat.”
Welker, who seems unable to think outside the Democratic box responded with:
“Respectfully, you are literally running against President Biden. So, can you tell voters, what is your major point of difference with President Biden?”
To which Phillips replied:
“I’m not running against President Biden. I’m running for the majority of Americans, who want somebody different.”
And that should scare the shit out of the DNC, Democratic movers and shakers, the Biden campaign, and donors.
