Republicans Want to Reinstate McCarthy as Speaker of the House
The House is paralyzed and unable to act on sending aid to Israel
Oh my God, you guys. I am laughing my ass off. Politico is reporting that Republicans are beginning to regret their hasty ouster of Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as Speaker and want to reinstate him.
Why, you may ask? Because it turns out that the rest of the world doesn’t give a flying fuck about the Republicans’ quest for ideological purity. Hamas didn’t bother to wait for the Republicans to take days to decide who to nominate for Speaker of the House and then another week or so to go through another 15 rounds of balloting.
Nah, they just fired off their rockets and invaded Israel. Now the House is paralyzed because without a speaker, they can’t vote on any kind of aid package for the US’s BFF in the Middle East.
The jokes just write themselves.
Ya know, if you wanna be large and in charge, you have to take a beat to consider the rest of the world before you throw a tantrum and take yourself out of the fight for an indefinite period of time.
