Schiff Introduces Bill to Stop Presidents From Dropping Charges Against Themselves
It’ll never pass, but it will look good on his resumé
Talk about an exercise in futility. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has introduced a bill that would prevent a sitting president from dismissing criminal prosecutions against themselves. This would include attorneys general or anyone acting on the president’s behalf.
Gee, I wonder who this bill is aimed at?
Yeah, him. His Orangeness. Should he win in November … and it is still up in the air … you know that his first act in office will be to dial up the DOJ and order them to drop the two federal criminal cases against him.
Of course, the bill has a snowball’s chance in hell of being passed what with Republicans in control of the House and the Dems with a razor thin majority in the Senate.
Nah, Schiffy is just posturing. You will recall that he is a protégé of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). As House Speaker, she appointed him as one of the investigators in Trump’s first impeachment and then the lead impeachment manager in his second impeachment.
Nancy has big plans for her boy, Schiffy. She wants him to succeed her old (deceased) friend Dianne Feinstein in the Senate. And from there, I’m sure that…
