SCOTUS Punts on Abortion Again
They made a non-decision on Mifepristone
So SCOTUS did it again. Avoided the whole abortion mess by passing it off to someone else. They did it with the Dobbs decision which said there was no constitutional right to abortion and sent the issue down to the states.
That worked out really well, didn’t it? Women are dying. Doctors are afraid to treat them. It’s real medieval shit going on. Next thing you know, they’ll be bringing back the Inquisition.
Now we have their non-decision on Mifepristone, which is used for abortions, saying that the plaintiffs have no standing. That wasn’t the question guys. The question was about the FDA’s approval of the drug that the plaintiffs said was dangerous.
But the justices were too busy taking luxury vacations and flying controversial flags to be bothered to actually do their job. Seriously. This is their reasoning:
“The plaintiffs do not prescribe or use mifepristone. And F.D.A. is not requiring them to do or refrain from doing anything. A plaintiff’s desire to make a drug less available for others does not establish standing to sue.”
Um, yes it does. That’s what the whole abortion issue is about. Pro-life people want to deny abortions to everyone whether they agree with them or not. That includes the…
