Second Republican Debate Recap
That’s more like it
Good news, folks. This time around, we had something vaguely resembling a real debate. Candidates skillfully avoiding answering questions from the moderators. Lots of yelling, interruptions, and complaints.
It was almost as if Trump was there.
But he wasn’t and his name only came up a coupla times. Only two people, Chris Christie and Ron “The Troll” DeSantis called him out for not showing up. Christie, who’s known Trump since he (Christie) was a bigshot prosecutor and Trump was … not a bigshot real estate developer, knows how to get under his skin.
He looked straight into the camera and called Trump a coward; too afraid to join the debate. Trump’s reaction posted on Truth Social was pretty lame, but I think that’s because he is still in shock after his company was dissolved and he was banned from doing business in the state of New York.
So let’s go over expectations versus reality.
We’ll start with Nikki Haley, who I confidently predicted would have a target on her back. Wrong! Her opponents were too busy attacking Biden and avoiding having to say “Trump.” Haley, who was the clear winner of the first debate, maintained her whole “I’m the only grown-up on this stage” attitude and lectured…
