Sen. Dianne Feinstein Must Resign

Her health has deteriorated to the point where she is unable to do her job

Oh. Dear. Lord. When are we going to learn? Elderly people should not be governing the country.

First it was the beloved RBG. Despite declining health, she refused to step down, even when asked to by then President Obama. She said she was still sharp and still enjoying her job. But she miscalculated badly and Hillary Clinton did not defeat Trump in 2016.

RBG grimly held on as long as she could but died weeks before the 2020 election allowing Trump to nominate a third conservative Supreme Court justice and setting the country on a course that no one except the extreme right wants.

And now we have Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who at 89, is the oldest member of the Senate. She is also suffering from … how do I say this delicately … cognitive difficulties. She has refused for years to step aside, finally agreeing to retire when her current term is up in 2025.

And now she is being treated for shingles, a terrible and debilitating disease. Not only has she been absent from the Senate since February, missing many critical votes, but because she serves on the Judiciary Committee, her absence is holding up confirmation of Biden’s judicial…
