Sen. Tim Scott Endorses Trump
Is he angling for a spot on the ticket?
Whoops! In my haste to list the possible contenders for Trump’s vice president, I overlooked a very obvious choice: Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina. He’s an obvious choice because he’s male, he has only gently criticized Trump, and he has never, ever talked about being Trump’s VP.
Now that he has endorsed Trump, speculation is growing that Scott is angling to be Trump’s VP. There’s just one problem — Scott is Black and Trump is a stone cold racist.
Trump’s racism is nothing new. It is well-documented from the 60s onward. Black tenants weren’t welcome in any Trump property. Trump and his father were sued by the Justice Department in the 70s for housing discrimination.
They lost, of course, and then did the very Trumpian thing of renting to a single Black family in each of the properties that they owned. See? No discrimination here.
I’ve never understood why any Black person would support Trump, a guy who would like nothing better than to return to the Jim Crow era when there was strict separation of the races and Black people knew their place.
