Senators Pass Resolution Against USDA Policy on Sex Discrimination
They don’t want school lunch funding linked to transgender discrimination
I’m still digesting the ramifications of the new MAGA Speaker of the House. You know that I will have thoughts. In the meantime, here’s that palate cleanser that I promised you yesterday.
Seems the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued guidance on sex discrimination.
Yeah, I know. You’re wondering what the hell sex discrimination has to do with agriculture. We’ll get to that in a minute.
First, let’s define “guidance.” According to Ballotpedia:
“Guidance is a term in administrative law used to describe a variety of documents created by government agencies to explain, interpret, or advise interested parties about rules, laws, and procedures. Guidance documents clarify and affect how agencies administer regulations and programs.”
The guidance in question refers to the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) which funds school lunch programs. Yes, the USDA funds school lunches.
