Speaker McCarthy Announces Biden Impeachment Inquiry

He will do anything to remain Speaker of the House

McCarthy caved. It was inevitable. He made a deal with the devil and the devil has come to collect.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that he has directed three committees, Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means, to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

Not because McCarthy thinks Biden has done anything wrong, but because McCarthy wants to hold on to his position as Speaker. The House Freedom Caucus, which forced concessions in exchange for their votes when McCarthy was running for Speaker, first threatened to shut down the government and then threatened to remove McCarthy as speaker if there was no impeachment inquiry.

They claim that McCarthy is “out of compliance” with the power sharing agreement he made with them last January.

So McCarthy caved. The Speaker’s gavel means more to him than the country, the presidency, and his own integrity. He is willing to stomp on all three just to retain the title of Speaker of the House.

Shame on him. We expect more from our public servants than that. Kev, you seem to have forgotten that you were elected by and work for your district in California…
