Talking to Trump Supporters
This is what we should be telling them
I had an interesting debate in the comment section of another article with a conservative commenter. I welcome conservatives to comment on my articles, by the way. I think it’s important that we all talk to each other. It’s the only way that we will ever begin to heal the gaping wound that has been caused by Trump and Trumpism.
In their comment, they were railing about election fraud and the peaceful protest (in their view) on Jan 6. I answered both points, but the point about election fraud got me thinking. Here’s what I wrote:
“Do your own research. If you do, you will find that in the 245 years that America has been in existence, there has been little to no fraud in our elections. Then Trump pops up and suddenly we have fraudulent elections? What does that tell you? The problem is Trump, not the elections. If I recall, all of the fraud that was documented in the 2020 election was committed by MAGA followers trying to generate more votes for Trump. Let’s see, there was the Trump voter in PA who voted for Trump on behalf of his dead mother. And then there were the three guys in FL who voted for Trump in Florida and also in their former home states up north. See? If it hadn’t been for Trump, none of this would have happened.”
