Oh, it’s on. Texas and Florida are going head-to-head to see who can obstruct the most “woke” energy.

First up was Texas. Of course. It’s always Texas. Admittedly, this bill didn’t make it out of committee, but it shows you how they’re thinking about clean energy in Texas.

Texas SB 624 would have imposed onerous new permit requirements for renewable energy. Not for non-renewables like coal and oil. Just stuff like solar panels and windmills.

If enacted, the bill would have required any Texan with a large solar or wind farm who wanted to connect to the power grid and make a little money to obtain a permit to do so. But it wouldn’t be a matter of running down to municipal hall and filling out an application.

“The lengthy permitting process would have required a public meeting to allow comments, multiple surveys and assessments, and a website with information about the project.”

Plus, anyone with wind turbines would have to place them at least half a mile away from their property line with their neighbors. Unless the neighbors gave permission to place…
