It’s always Texas. Always.

What is the great state of Texas up to now? Getting religion, specifically Christian religion, back into the schools.

Yes, yes, I know that the Supreme Court has ruled against it. But this is Texas that we’re talking about. You don’t think that they would actually let a little thing like a Supreme Court decision get in their way, do you?

The Texas state senate has approved a bill that will require all public schools to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom. According to state Sen. Phil King (R) who is sponsoring this groundbreaking legislation, the Ten Commandments are a part of America’s heritage and this legislation “will remind students all across Texas of the importance of the fundamental foundation of America.”

Well, slavery was a “fundamental foundation of America,” but I don’t see anyone mandating bills of sale for human beings be displayed in every classroom.

But that’s not all.

The Senate also passed a bill that allows both public schools and charter schools to set aside time every day for students…
