Thank you for sharing this. I am brand new to Medium and self-publishing for now while I search for a publication that is a good fit for my writing. This may be the wrong platform for me, but after reading your article I no longer feel foolish with my decision to continue self-publishing until I decide where I fit in, if at all, on Medium.
