Thanks for the clarification. American schools are notoriously bad when it comes to teaching history. My mother told me that when she was teaching school in Mississippi, when she taught the unit on the (American) Civil War, she was only required to teach the battles that the Confederacy won so I probably shouldn't be surprised to learn that when I was studying American History in high school in the 70s, that it was slanted to make the British look as bad as possible.
It still happens in the 21st century. We still have schools that teach Creationism as fact and evolution as a questionable theory.
I had hopes that we would be able to get rid of the NRA when the Attorney General of New York announced that she was revoking their charter as a non-profit company but then one of the Southern states (I forget which one) said that they would be happy to charter the NRA in their state.
