That's a different law. That's the "resign to run" law which has been suspended in the past so that a sitting governor could campaign for another office without resigning.

The law that I am referring to limits Florida governors to only two terms. This is DeSantis' second term, so he can't run again.

NYC used to have a term limit law for their mayors. Mike Bloomberg convinced the city council to change the law so that he could run for a third term.
