The Audience Wasn’t Impressed With Pence’s Town Hall
Some audience members couldn’t be bothered to applaud
I didn’t know that Mike Pence can tap dance, did you? Cuz he sure tap danced a lot around Dana Bash’s questions during his CNN town hall last night. Of course, she wasn’t trying all that hard to get a straight answer out of him.
I think that’s what frustrated me the most about Pence’s town hall. When he refused to answer a question, she allowed him to just go on and on about everything but the answer to her question.
When he ran out of steam, she asked the same question a second time, allowed him to go on and on until he ran out of steam and then she moved on to the next topic.
That’s not how it’s done. How it should be done is, ask the question, let him tap dance for just a minute, and then ask the question again demanding a yes or no answer. When he refuses to answer yes or no, say something to the effect that he expects Republicans to vote for him without answering any questions about whatever the topic is.
And then you move on. You need to point out the bullshit screen that he is throwing up to the audience.
