The financial industry is even worse. Or was when I worked Wall Street many years ago. There was a period when brokerage houses were expanding faster than the available labor pool. To solve that problem, the company I worked for began hiring people at a much higher salary than current employees doing the same job. To add insult to injury, current employees were expected to train the new hires who were making more money. I switched careers.
