The problem is that Republicans are working on being able to rig elections in their favor with extreme gerrymandering, voter suppression tactics and new laws which give election officials and state legislatures the power to choose the winners regardless of how people vote.

The Supreme Court has accepted a case for next term which could give power to state legislatures to make voting laws affecting federal electons that cannot be struck down by state courts. By extension, this means that the Supreme Court can interfere in federal elections, a violation of the Constitution.
