The problem with the Democrats is that they do everything by seniority so the younger politicians don’t have a chance to get any experience because they can’t move up in the ranks until the leaders die or occasionally retire. That’s why Democrats have so few eligible candidates for the presidency while the Republicans have so many. Republicans do things based on merit, so it’s much easier for a younger politician to advance their careers.
