Trump Campaign Maneuvering to Change Delegate Rules

They are trying to ensure that Trump will be the Republican nominee

Don’t take your eye off the ball, cuz Trump sure hasn’t. While the rest of us have been closely following the ins and outs of his various trials, his campaign has been quietly buttering up or twisting the arms of state Republicans and election officials with the goal of changing the state delegate rules for the 2024 primary elections to ensure that Trump is the nominee.

Now, before you get all hot under the collar, this is just politics as usual. Everybody does it. The only difference this time is that it could result in a Trump presidency.

So, let’s see what they’ve been up to. We’ll start with Nevada. The chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, Michael McDonald, was a fake elector for Trump in 2020. He was among a group of state party officials that was treated to dinner at Mar-A-Lago in March.

Thanks to hour-long meal topped off with an ice cream sundae, Republicans in Nevada have adopted new rules governing the state caucuses. They have blocked Super PACs from participating in the caucuses in any way, shape, or form.

That actually sounds good, right? Except that Florida Gov. Ron “The Troll” DeSantis…
