Trump Gives Himself More Power

Now he is taking power away from Congress and giving it to himself

So … today’s outrage is an executive order signed by Trump giving himself authority over regulatory agencies created by Congress to be independent of the president. In normal administrations, the president can appoint the officials, the heads of the agencies, but he (so far the president has always been a he) has no say in their actions.

But this is not a normal administration.

To date, Trump has illegally fired officials despite the fact that he cannot legally remove them from office before their term is up or he has fired them without notice or a reason for the firings, also illegal.

His newest executive order requires specific agencies to submit all proposed regulations to the president for review (illegal), gives the president the power to block them from spending funds allocated by Congress on projects or other efforts that he doesn’t like (illegal), and that they must accept both the president’s and the Department of Justice’s interpretation of the law (illegal).

And which agencies does this EO apply to? I’m so glad you asked. It’s the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and the National Labor Relations…
