Trump Has Become Our Dotty Old Uncle

What concerned me, amused me, and terrified me about Trump’s town hall

I watched Trump’s town hall last night and, as usual, it was the little things that jumped out at me. Right off the bat I noticed that as the moderator, Kaitlan Collins, introduced him, Trump stepped out from behind the curtain and stopped.

He looked confused as if he didn’t know where he was or what he was doing there. It was only a few seconds, but it made me watch more closely as he traversed the stage and tried to climb into his chair.

I say “tried” because he had difficulty getting himself situated. I doubt very much that the venue provided a chair that was too small for him, so it must have been a physical problem.

After one of the later breaks, I noticed that both Trump and Collins were standing on the stage. Please correct me if I am wrong, but they didn’t show Trump actually getting out of the chair. And I think that there is a very good reason why.

I think that he had difficulty getting out of the chair or maybe even needed help getting out of it … as many elderly people do. I think the choice to have him get out of his chair off-camera was deliberate. It would have been expected that at the end of the evening…
