Trump Is Admitting That He Plans to Contest the Election Results
He knows that he will lose the mail in vote
Trump commented yesterday on the need to confirm a new Supreme Court justice before the election.
“We need nine justices. You need that with the unsolicited millions of ballots that they’re sending. It’s a scam. It’s a hoax. Everybody knows that. And the Democrats know it better than anybody else. So you’re going to need nine justices out there. I think it’s very important.”
Reading between the lines, Trump clearly understands that he will lose the mail-in vote. So he knows that the only way to win the election is to contest the validity of the ballots that are mailed in. And he knows that that decision will ultimately be made by the Supreme Court.
With the court evenly split 4–4 between liberal and conservative judges, the court could deadlock and the election results could be delayed for weeks or even months.
Ideally, Trump wants the results of in-person voting on Election Day to determine the winner because he knows that his supporters are more likely to vote in person while Biden’s supporters are more likely to vote by mail.
